Apr 11, 2019·Two points here(!) 1. Van cleef arpels PH smells are darn much like the Imperial Leather Soap bar by Cussons. If you're interested (you may well already know!) The Imperial Leather story is quite nice, the scent is based on an original perfume made for Count Olaf ( yes that was a real person) called 'Eau de Cologne Imperiale Russe' 1798.

I love this soap and was delighted to be able to buy it here in the US, my only complaint is that the label (which is one of the unique things about this soap) is supposed to be used to rest the soap on when not in use so that it dries out and doesn't get soggy by contact with the soap dish - remember the advertising slogan "Imperial Leather rests on its name" ?
